For one day earlier this month, rising women of Austin, Texas came together for Rise’s Women Building the Future: Rising Women of ATX event at The Riveter. Amazing stories were told by our incredible line-up of panelists and sponsors to help build a conversation around female empowerment.
Earlier this year, Texas was ranked #1 for women entrepreneurs. With businesses like Bumble and Outdoor Voices to other young female entrepreneurs, there is no better city than Austin to bring Rise to announce our partnership with Decent, a health insurance company that is perfect for the self-employed in ATX..
The event was a full afternoon filled with festivities as well as food and drinks. Our incredible sponsors included Restart CBD, SZENT, Richard’s Rainwater, Jugo, The Steeping Room, Moontower Matcha, PLNT Blend and True Food Kitchen.
On top of this, we had three amazing panels with influencers, entrepreneurs and rising women in media, tech and community. From Women Building the Future sponsored by AQUIS with speakers Melissa Rubenstein, Head of PR for Outdoor Voices, Emily Wright, Associate Director of PR for Bumble, Elisa Sepulveda, Regional Sales Director for The Riveter and our very own founder and CEO of Rise, Vivian Chen.
The first panel concentrated on how these amazing women began their journey and how Austin has helped shape their careers. The second panel called Austin and Culture explored how the amazing women are building up this amazing city. They talked about how it has brought the perfect work/life balance for them. It featured Rachel Holtin of @Austinfoodstagram, Jules Hunt of @Omandthecity, Shayda Torabi of Restart CBD and Maddie Grandbois of SZENT.
In between panels, guests were able to make their own DIY flower bouquets, network, and talk with our partner Decent about health insurance; which then dives into our last panel of the day on the importance of health and wellness.
Moderated by Ellen Decauru of MedVoice PR, this panel consisted of health and wellness experts. This included Ashely Rollins of @Swiftwellness, Molly Moore, Health Plant Lead at Decent and Alexis Neal, VP of Sales of Richard’s Rainwater.
With over 100 women who came out to support and learn more about the amazing rising women, we are extremely grateful for all the love and support Austin gave us. A huge thank you to all our amazing sponsors who helped make this event possible: Lola, Elements by Lokai, CLE cosmetics, FinalStraw, Charlotte’s Fiesta Flowers, Botanical No. 9 and many more.
